For the fashionably inclined (or their significant other), Christian Louboutin’s new hospitality project, Vermelho, is the ultimate destination.
The 13-room boutique hotel is located in the small village of Melides, in Portugal’s Alentejo region. The hotel features the designer’s signature hue on tiles, doorways, and furniture, creating a magical homage to Louboutin’s iconic aesthetic.
For Louboutin, it was a dream come true to design his own hotel. He worked with renowned architect Madalena Caiado (with whom he had collaborated on his Lisbon home) and his close friend, designer Carolina Irving. Together, they created a cozy atmosphere with inviting textiles and interior decor.
The design is also reflective of the local area, with the incorporation of elaborate woodcarvings, bright tones and enormous murals, paying tribute to Portuguese culture and custom.
All of the 13 rooms at Vermelho feature Christian Louboutin’s signature hue of deep red, in some form.
Booking a vacation to Vermelho this summer will give you a tranquil retreat with a hint of luxury. Melidas is a tranquil community home to artisans, wineries, rice paddies, white-stoned piazzas, and views of the Atlantic Ocean in the distance.
Beautility-designed gardens, the fabulous Xtian restaurant, the Vermelho bar, and luxurious spa, are among the amenities to help you forget the hustle and bustle of city life.
This summer, if you’re looking for a holiday stay as chic as your attire, Christian Louboutin’s Vermelho Hotel will not disappoint.
