Tudor’s Pelagos has always been a serious contender in the dive watch game, but they just cranked things up to eleven with the new Ultra model. This isn’t your dad’s Submariner (though we dig those too). We’re talking a rugged 43mm case carved from grade 2 titanium with a stealthy satin finish. The bezel’s a unidirectional beast with a matte black ceramic insert that’s glowing with serious Grade X1 and BGW9 Super-LumiNova. Translation: this thing’s built for the deep and you’ll actually be able to read it down there, too.
Strap-wise, you get a solid three-link titanium bracelet rocking Tudor’s awesome “T-fit” clasp for quick adjustments on the fly (or over a wetsuit). They even threw in a visual indicator on the diver’s extension, which is a slick touch. Inside, the METAS and COSC-certified MT5612-U movement is ticking away, packing a silicon hairspring and a hefty 65-hour power reserve. Basically, this thing is a tank for your wrist.
No word on exact pricing yet, but the Pelagos Ultra ($5,950) is hitting Tudor’s online store and boutiques soon. If you’re serious about diving (or just want a watch that looks like you are), this might be your next grail.
