Valve has announced a major upgrade to its popular Steam Deck handheld gaming PC: a stunning OLED screen. The new Steam Deck OLED delivers a significant boost in visual performance and overall user experience.
The Steam Deck OLED’s integrated OLED screen offers a number of advantages over the original LCD screen, including a wider P3 color space coverage so that gamers get more vibrant and true-to-life colors. Peak brightness is up to of 1,000 nits to bring out details, even in bright environments. As is common with OLED, you’ll get purer blacks for stunning contrast and enhanced image quality.
Performance enhancements have also been added to the handheld device, including up to a 50% long battery life, more efficient CPU and GPU, enhanced haptic feedback, and a lighter design to support extended gaming sessions in comfort. Steam Deck OLED also gets faster charging, allowing you to go from 20 to 80% in just 45-minutes. The addition of Wi-Fi 6E also lends faster, more reliable online gaming.
