Introduced in 1979, the Walkman revolutionized how we listened to music. Now, the Sony Walkman is back in a big way, promising to deliver some of the highest quality sound possible from both online and offline music sources.
The milled aluminum body of the new Walkman adds durability and premium looks. The construction also helps lower impedance for clearer sound. Sony’s S-Master HX digital amp technology further reduces noise and distortion.
Other features include Edge-AI and DSEE Ultimate which can upscale compressed digital music files as well as streamed music. There’s also up to 26 hours of battery life, Wi-Fi connectivity, and Android OS support, so you can download your music from your favorite streaming music apps.
Sony’s new Walkman will help satisfy that itch for vintage tech, while also giving a clear, hi-fi audio experience on the go. For now it’s available in Japan and Europe, but could come to the US later this year.
