Any self-respecting off-roader should have some level water-fording capability. Rivian recently showed that it’s new all-electric vehicles easily deliver on that promise.
Rivian CEO RJ Scaringe showed off in a recent video posted to Twitter, demonstrating a Rivian R1T wading through water nearly up to the top of its hood. In addition to competitive wading depth and ground clearance, plus seating for seven, Rivian’s off-road-relevant specs include a 34.3-degree approach angle, a 33.7-degree departure angle, and a 28.9-degree breaker angle.
R1T deliveries are slated to start in September 2021, with the first R1S deliveries expected to start shortly thereafter.
