Rivian, the electric vehicle manufacturer, is taking a new approach to retail with its Rivian Spaces. These experiential boutiques are designed to give EV shoppers a hands-on look at Rivian’s vehicles and to help them learn more about the company’s commitment to adventure and sustainability.
The first Rivian Space in New York City recently opened in Manhattan’s Meatpacking District. The space is located in a former loading dock and features a large glass window that allows passersby to see the vehicles inside. Once inside, the space is divided into two areas: a showroom and an interactive experience zone.
The showroom features the Rivian R1T and R1S vehicles, as well as a variety of Rivian-branded merchandise. Customers can also learn more about the company’s charging network and its plans for future products.
The interactive experience zone is where customers can get a hands-on look at the Rivian vehicles. They can explore the vehicles’ features, including the Gear Tunnel and the Adventure Package, and they can even take them for a test drive.
According to Rivian, these Spaces are more than just retail stores. They’re a way for Rivian to connect with customers and to build a community around its vehicles. The company plans to open additional Rivian Spaces in major cities around the world. Next up, locations include South Coast Theater, a former cinema in Laguna Beach, CA, and a 10,000 sq-ft indoor/outdoor space in Austin, Texas.
