The Razer BlackWidow V4 Pro has come a long way from its humble beginnings. Back in 2008, when it debuted on the scene, the keyboard’s name was hardcore and uncompromising. Now, it’s a different story altogether.
The BlackWidow garnered a reputation for being an excellent option for gaming and typing alike. And, in an effort to keep the momentum going, The V4 is an evolution of the BlackWidow formula, and it plays to the strengths of the brand, A hard-lined case and a slim profile that makes it easy to slip into your laptop bag, and it’s compatible with the Chroma RGB lighting system that you’ll find on other Razer products, such as the Blade Stealth. Other features include a leatherette wrist rest and a pair of USB-C ports.
The most important aspect of the BlackWidow is its mechanical switches. These were the first to offer more than 1.5 millimeters of travel, and they’re now the standard for “hardcore” keyboards. If you’re a gamer and you’re used to the tactile feedback of mechanical switches, you’ll feel at home with the keys on the the V4. Plus, it’ll be more responsive than its predecessors. Now, the only thing left to do is take it home.
Razer’s BlackWidow V4 Pro is available now on Razer.com for $230.
