All automakers are now electrifying their pickup trucks. Even Ram, following a Super Bowl spot in February, has released more details on its first-ever electric truck.
Making its debut at the New York International Auto Show, the Ram 1500 REV features a new body-on-frame design with two battery options: the 168kWh and the larger 229kWh — providing 350 miles and a whopping 500 miles of range, respectively. This gives an incredible distance of travel, enough to get you from New York City to Toronto on a single charge! There is also an 800-volt DC fast charge that can provide around 110 miles of extra range in about 10 minutes. Ram teased a future 1500 REV XR model that will have a “class-shattering range.”
The REV variant of the 1500 is able to hauling capacity of 2,700 lbs., higher than its current gas-powered counterpart, as well as tow up to 14,000 lbs. Its powertrain produces 654 hp and 620 lb-ft of torque, allowing it to reach 60 mph from a standstill in just 4.4 seconds. The interior features carbon fiber trims and leather materials, a 14.5-inch touchscreen, and a 10.25-inch passenger screen. The top-shelf Tungsten package gets you 23 speakers from Klipsch, as well as dual wireless chargers.
Pricing has yet to be released, but you can learn more on Ram’s website. The Ram 1500 REV won’t be available to purchase until 2024, but you can start your reservation now.
