Porsche is adding more power it’s latest Macan Turbo, along with a subtle refresh for the 2020 model year. Under the hood will reside a 2.9-liter twin-turbo V6 producing 434 horsepower and 405 pound-feet of torque making for a 0-60 mph time of 4.3 seconds (or 4.1 with the Sport Chrono package) and a top speed of 167 mph. This powerplant replaces the 3.6-liter twin-turbo V6 of the previous model and is shared with both the Cayenne and Panamera. To be clear, Every Macan model is turbocharged, but there’s only one Macan Turbo.
The new engine is mated to a seven-speed PDK dual-clutch transmission and Porsche Traction Management all-wheel drive. Other standard equipment upgrades for 2020 include Porsche Surface Coated Brakes with tungsten carbide-coated rotors, a Sport Exhaust system, 20-inch Macan Turbo wheels, and Porsche Active Suspension Management. Height-adjustable air suspension, Porsche Torque Vectoring Plus, and ceramic brakes are also available as options. Other enhancements include an aggressive assertive front fascia and a subtle wing at the rear.
The 2020 Porsche Macan Turbo will be available later this year, starting at $83,600.
