The My Porsche app isn’t the most popular app on the Apple App Store. However, Porsche is quickly going to remedy that with a new integration that brings Apple CarPlay into the new Cayenne in a more comprehensive way than ever before.
Te new system will allow users to control CarPlay directly from the Porsche Communication Management (PCM) system, and it will also be able to access more features from their iPhone, such as climate control and ambient lighting. Ultimately, Porsche is aiming to reduce the need to jump between various screens, streamlining the user experience and making the drive a safer.
Other enhancements include a new UI to match the look of and feel of the PCM system. The new Cayenne will also support wireless CarPlay, so users will be able to connect their iPhone without having to use a cable.
The new Porsche CarPlay integration is expected to be available in the new Porsche Cayenne later this year.
