Onkyo has done an amazing job lately of producing feature-rich mid- and high-end home audio receivers. It’s latest offering, the TX-8270, is yet another solid option that’s ready to play just about anything you throw at it.
The all-new TX-8270 features coaxial and optical digital inputs, four HDMI inputs capable of 4K and High Dynamic Range (HDR) passthrough, a USB port, and dual-band Wi-Fi to support DTS Play-Fi, Chromecast built-in, AirPlay, Spotify, network-attached audio, and other streaming services. Note that at a future firmware update will be needed to support Chromecast built-in, as well as wireless multiroom streaming.
Onkyo’s Controller app controls both the receiver and the integrated streaming services, and it’s available for both iOS and Android.
This unit is build to power your favorite music thanks to a massive transformer, audio-grade capacitors, and discrete non-phase-shift circuitry. When mated to a quality pair of speakers, the TX-8270 is certainly capable of delivering the performance that any audiophile demands.
The Onkyo TX-8270 Network Stereo Receiver ships later this month for $600.
