Software giant Microsoft is continuing to expand its presence in the world of hardware with the launch of an all-new laptop.
The 13.5-inch Surface Laptop prominently features Microsoft’s newest operating system, Windows 10 S. As such, it can use a host of apps available from the company’s Windows Store.
Available with unique colors such as platinum, burgundy, cobalt blue, and graphite gold, the Surface Laptop weighs less than three pounds and is designed to deliver a premium look and feel. The screen is said to be the thinnest LCD touch model ever created, according to Microsoft.
The device also features Intel Core i5 and i7 processors, an impressive battery battery life of 14.5 hours, and Microsoft even boasts that the Surface Laptop is faster than the i7 MacBook Pro.
The Surface Laptop will start shipping in June with a starting price of $999. This entry model includes a Core i5 processor with 4GB of RAM and 128GB of SSD storage.
