American car buyers are notoriously uninterested in wagons. This has led to even the coolest of wagons to be kept from the U.S. market. But today, more wagons are starting to make their way Stateside.
The latest is the 2018 Jaguar XF Sportbrake. It’s perhaps one of the sexiest looking wagons you’ll find, with a sleek and slender exterior design typical of any Jaguar regardless of bodytype. Plus, it has the added utility and versatility that a comparable sedan just doesn’t offer.
The Jaguar XF Sportbrake is also lighter and stiffer than the car it replaces, not to mention one that offers a near-perfect 50/50 front-to-rear weight distribution. That means it’s sure to handle like a dream on stints to the office or the grocery store.
When it arrives later this year, the XF Sportbrake will be available in either RWD and AWD and it will be powered by a 380-horsepower 3.0-liter V6 mated to either a six-speed manual or eight-speed automatic gearbox. Its $70,450 base price will also bring a very long list of standard features, including an Activity Key — a shockproof and waterproof wristband equipped with a transponder that allows you lock and unlock the doors without requiring the keyfob.
