Grado Labs has unveiled it’s newest headphones powered by the brand’s fourth-generation X Drivers. The new RS1x and RS2x both feature dynamic transducers with an open-air configuration. However, the RS1x features a housing made of a maple sleeve, a hemp core, and a cocobolo outer ring. These woods were carefully selected for the unique soundscape they would provide, and they’re paired with the new 50mm X Driver, which has a more powerful magnetic circuit, a voice coil with decreased effective mass, and a reconfigured diaphragm, allowing for accurate sound that’s free of any harsh distortion. The RS2x features a maple and hemp wood housing with a set of Grado Labs’ 44mm X Drivers. Both headphones feature a redesigned cable and a new black leather headband for added style and durability.
