Google Assistant is a familiar AI competing with the likes of Amazon’s Alexa or Apple Siri. Like Alexa, Google’s AI is finding its way into a wide assortment of products beyond the company’s own branded speakers and mobile devices.
This week, at the company’s annual developer’s conference, Google showed a sneak peek of what’s coming in the years ahead. Soon, Google Assistant will be able to make phone calls on your behalf, making reservations and setting appointments even there is no online system available. It will call businesses sounding like and mimicking the speech of a real human, unbeknown to the person on the other end of the call.
Check out this technology in action below. A beta version will be rolling out later this year.
