It’s official: Nintendo’s brought back GoldenEye 007 HD for Nintendo Switch, and a remastered version of the legendary Nintendo 64 title for Xbox.
The remastered game on Xbox includes 4K resolution, smoother frame rates, and even split-screen local multiplayer. Although both version of the game will be slightly different, Microsoft promises it has made a faithful recreation of the game, originally introduced in 1997 title.
Game developer Rare said it would also arrive on Xbox Game Pass and Nintendo Switch Online, with online multiplayer modes available exclusively on the Switch version.
Based on the 1995 Bond film, the original GoldenEye 007 became one of the most influential FPS games in history. An HD remaster has been in the works for years, but stalled due to licensing issues. The game is also returning in time for the film franchise’s 60th anniversary, so it’s a good time to be a James Bond fan.
