There are some pretty awesome flagship Android phones available from the likes of Samsung, HTC, and more, but there’s now a new device to get ready for.
The creator of Android himself, Andy Rubin, has just launched the first device from his own company, Essential Products. Naturally, Essential’s first product is a premium Android smartphone running stock Android absent of bloatware and unnecessary software.
Many phones offer durable metallic finishes, but Essential’s PH-1 is built from ultra-rugged and lightweight titanium, with a ceramic back and Gorilla Glass 5 on the front.
It offers an impressive edge-to-edge 2560 x 1312 QHD 5.71″ display that’s been specially designed to fit comfortably in your hand. It also delivers a modular platform for accessories. For example, a magnetic attachment system lets you easily connect their compact, 360-degree camera.
Other impressive features include wireless charging, a 13MP f/1.85 rear camera with a true monochrome mode, 8MP front camera, Bluetooth 5.0, a Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 processor, 4GB of RAM, a 3,040 mAh battery, and 128GB of storage.
The unlocked Essential PH-1 can be reserved now. It will be available in four colors and can only be had in the U.S., for now.
