Drypond is a new contemporary eyewear company based out of Vancouver, British Columbia. Established in 2021, it is already selling out in numerous boutique shops.
Founded by Aidan Cheung who has roots in Shenzhen and Hong Kong, Drypond’s sunglasses are inspired by vintage frames from Europe and America. The name Drypond stems from the Chinese phrase “Han Tang,” a nickname given to the neighborhoods adjacent to the eyewear brand’s factory.
Each frame is meticulously crafted and sourced from a family owned facility, combining Italian acetate and retro styles. Frames like the DP1003 feature 6.5mm Italian acetate that’s been placed in a specialized oven before production creating a unique polishing effect. Each frame also features UV protection, polarized lenses to reduce glare, and five barrel hinges.
