DJI has announced the Osmo Action 4, the successor to its popular Osmo Action action camera, packing a number of improvements over the previous model, including a new design, a larger sensor, and improved stabilization.
The newest generation Osmo Action camera has a more compact design that is 30% smaller and 20% lighter than the previous model. DJI has also made the camera more durable, thanks to a new water-resistant design that can withstand depths of up to 18 meters.
The Osmo Action 4 features a new 1/1.7-inch sensor that is 66% larger than the sensor in the previous model, allowing the camera to capture more light and produce images and videos with better quality.
A hallmark of a good action camera is image stabilization. That’s why DJI’s introduced a new RockSteady 4.0 stabilization algorithm that can compensate for even the most jarring movements, resulting in smooth, stable footage even when you’re on the move.
Other features on the Osmo Action 4 include a new touchscreen display, a built-in microphone, and a longer battery life. The camera can record 4K video at up to 60fps and 1080p video at up to 240fps.
More powerful and versatile, the new DJI Osmo Action 4 is primed to give GoPro a run for its money. Grab yours here for $399.
