Seamlessly embedded into the surrounding landscape, the Carraig Ridge Rock House is the embodiment of a design that respects its natural setting. This 750 square foot cabin has a small footprint, but it offers massive, expansive views of the surrounding Canadian countryside. It’s almost entirely encased in glass to provide panoramic views of the Rocky Mountains.
Wallpaper* magazine has named this home the ‘Best Cabin’ in their 2017 Design Awards for numerous reasons, particularly because of its quiet elegance. It’s connection to the landscape was also key, as architect James Cutler, of Cutler Anderson Architects, explained, “Houses are dreams. People hire me to create a stage set for the drama of their lives. I have to make an emotionally powerful connection with the landscape.”
The project was completed recently and is now up for sale through Charles Real Estate for $2.98 million.
