The Banyan Tree Alula resort is one of Saudi Arabia’s newest and most dream-like resorts.
Located in the Ashar Valley, it features 47 suites each protected from the elements with a tented design. Paris-based design studio AW² designed the resort to integrate seamlessly into it’s site.
That desire to blend the facilities into their surroundings led designers to take a minimalistic approach, use desert-inspired color pallets, local Nabataean-inspired patterns, and create a maze-like layout that meandered through the desert landscape, helping to both preserve and highlight the area’s natural beauty.
