The Apple Watch continues to redefine the smartwatch category with its new eighth generation.
Available in 41mm and 45mm sizes, new Apple Watch models get a slew of upgraded sensors. These include include a body temperature sensor, plus new gyroscope and accelerometer that can alert help if it detects you’ve been involved in a crash. Battery life is rated at 36 hours and can be expanded to 60 hours in its low power setting. Naturally, Apple also included new watch faces, bands, and colors for the 2022 edition.
The biggest news is the addition of the Apple Watch Ultra, a high-performance sports variant featuring an all-new design with a 49mm titanium case, flat sapphire front crystal, and a customizable “Action” button. The Ultra’s display is rated at up to 2000 nits of brightness. It boasts a trio of mics for crystal clear call quality, dual-frequency GPS, water resistance of 100m, and new rugged bands.
Due out later this year, the new eighth generation Apple Watch is priced from $399.
