Hyundai has announced that it will be releasing a high-performance version of its IONIQ 5 electric SUV, called the IONIQ 5 N. When it arrives in early 2024, the IONIQ 5 N will be powered by a dual-motor all-wheel-drive system that produces 641 horsepower.
The IONIQ 5 N will also feature a number of performance-oriented upgrades over the standard EV, including a sport-tuned suspension, upgraded brakes, and a more aggressive exterior design. The interior of the IONIQ 5 N will also be enhanced with sport seats, a flat-bottom steering wheel, and N-branded trim.
Hyundai has not yet released any official performance figures for the IONIQ 5 N, but it is expected to be able to accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in under 4 seconds and reach a top speed of over 150 mph.
The N brand is known for producing high-performance vehicles, such as the Veloster N and the Elantra N. Hyundai is clearly set on reaching more performance enthusiasts with the addition of its first N-branded electronic vehicle, which also happens to be the most powerful Hyundai to reach customers yet.
