BMW has updated its entry-level X1 SUV for the 2024 model year, and the new M35i xDrive variant is the first time we’re getting the sportier variant in the U.S.
The X1 M35i xDrive is powered by a turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine that produces 312 horsepower and 369 lb-ft of torque. This engine is paired with a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission and all-wheel drive. BMW claims that the X1 M35i will accelerate from a standstill to 60 mph in 5.2 seconds, which seems conservative.

On the outside, the X1 M35i xDrive has a more aggressive look than the standard X1. It has a wider body, a more pronounced grille, quad exhaust tips, and a rear spoiler. It also rides on 19-inch wheels, but 20-inch rubber is optional.
Inside, the X1 M35i xDrive has a more luxurious interior than the standard X1. It has sport seats, a leather-wrapped steering wheel, and aluminum trim. It also comes standard with a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system.
The 2024 BMW X1 M35i xDrive will be priced from $50,895 and it arrives in showrooms in October.
