Audi has no equal when it comes to making performance vehicles that also double as brilliant daily drivers. However, the newly unveiled RS 3’s performance tuning is more apparent than your standard S-line vehicle. Under the hood of the 2022 Audi RS 3 is potent 2.5 TFSI five-cylinder producing 394 hp and 368 lb-ft of torque — truly menacing output considering the car’s overall compact size. That’s why it can easily sprint from a standstill to 60 mph in just 3.8 seconds and reach a top speed of 180 mph when equipped with the RS Dynamic package and ceramic brakes.
Power is routed through a a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission and Audi’s superb quattro all-wheel drive system, complete with a drift mode that can direct torque to a single wheel if needed. The new RS 3 also boasts an exhaust with variable flap control to adjust the engine note, there’s a standard torque splitter, standard RS sports suspension, new shock absorbers, an RS 3-specific valve system, plus a larger wheel camber for improved steering response. There will even be a mVDC system to synchronize the torque splitter, adaptive dampers, and torque control for precise steering and handling, a six-piston steel and ceramic brake system, and all the latest interior tech that Audi fans crave. The RS3 arrives in late 2021.
