Audi has confirmed that both the SQ7 and the SQ8 will be coming Stateside this year. This is good news following the U.S. launch of another one of Audi’s rare treats, the RS6 wagon.
These stylish SUVs are scheduled to make their debut on this side of the pond by late spring, and when they arrive they’ll feature a powerful twin-turbo V8, all-wheel steering, and a capable Tiptronic eight-speed automatic transmission to satisfy enthusiast drivers.
Packing 500 horsepower and 568 lb-ft of torque, both vehicles will be able to catapult drivers from zero to 60 mph in just under 4.3 seconds before reaching a top speed of 155 mpg. Plenty of grip will be available thanks to the Quattro all-wheel drive system which sends 60-percent of the engine’s power to the rear axle in normal driving conditions, and up to 80-percent when needed. All-wheel steering and torque vectoring come standard.
Helping to set these SUVs apart from their stablemates are silver mirror caps, quad exhaust outlets, and an array of S-specific trim. The SQ7 rides on 20-inch alloys, and it’s optionally available with 21s, while the SQ8 adds an extra inch to both figures. Heated and ventilated front sport seats wrapped with cross-stitched leather round out the features making these models visually unique from non-S models.
