Already one of the most stunning sports cars on the road, Audi’s R8 is undergoing a refresh for the 2019 model year that brings not only a fresh front facia, but a host of performance upgrades. These enhancements include a retuned suspension system to improve handling and driving dynamics, as well as a host of new lightweight wheel options. There’s also an optional CFRP front stabilizer.
Power is up in the naturally aspirated V10 that will now produce 562 horsepower and 406 pound-feet of torque, gaining about 30 hp and 8 lb-ft over the outgoing model. That’ll be good enought to launch the car from a standstill to 62 mph in just 3.4 seconds for the coupe and 3.5-seconds launch for the slightly heavier spyder, in addition to top speeds of 201 mph and 200 mph, respectively.
Visually, the new R8 will have a wider, more aggressive look upfront with the facia’s flat slits in the hood that echo the Ur-quattro, a wider front splitter, and even a wider air vent grille at the rear. Buyers will also be able to choose from two new paint options: Ascari Blue (above) and Kemora Gray.
The revised and retuned Audi R8 will rollout to European showrooms first start in early 2019.
